About Oakwood Management
Oakwood Management is a third party management company centrally located in Columbus, Ohio, and serving the greater Columbus Metro area. Oakwood, which began with one site in 1970, has maintained the title of largest multifamily housing management company in Columbus for the past ten years.
The reason for our continued success is simple. We are large enough to offer the benefits of a national company while still providing the attention afforded a local company. Our unique corporate structure and diverse management personnel allow us to maximize returns on all property types, including class A, B, and C properties along with tax credit and low income ventures and small commercial developments.
Oakwood Management Company is a very active member of the Columbus Apartment Association and is also an Accredited Management Organization (AMO) as recognized by the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM).
The following is a brief overview of what we consider to be the key elements that make up our proven corporate structure:
Training Department: Our in-house training department provides entry level, advanced and continued industry education and comprehensive site support using up to date technology. To compliment this program national training and motivational speakers are brought in throughout the year for company wide seminars.
Accounting Department: We utilize Yardi software, a widely recognized and easy to understand property software program providing Owners up to date statements. We also provide corporate monitoring of lease contracts from applications through potential legal services and collection.
Marketing and Advertising Department: This department offers a comprehensive range of services from design/production of advertising material, with the benefit of corporate discounts, to budget based, site specific marketing campaigns. We also understand the huge impact technology is having in our market. Moreover we appreciate the importance of its effects on the different demographic segments we market to.
Maintenance/Purchasing Department: A substantial cost savings is enjoyed at our communities due to our centralized purchasing department who negotiate volume pricing and monitors all warranted site expenditures. Regional maintenance facilitators oversee capital improvement management, employment of preventative maintenance and energy conservation programs along with providing a senior level of maintenance expertise which curbs outside contractor cost. In addition to our regional facilitators, Oakwood offers a specialized maintenance team available to all sites on an as needed basis.
